ABOUT
Varun is a filmmaker working across formats. He is a former Sundance Ignite fellow, an alum of the Film Independent Screenwriting Lab and AWC Asian American artist fellow.
His recent film "Holy Cowboys" was an Oscar contender in 2023. It won the Grand Jury Prize at DOC NYC and made notable stops at major international festivals including Rotterdam, Palm Springs, Camerimage, Melbourne & Clermont Ferrand among others.
Varun is a Cannes Lion Young Directors Award (YDA) winner and 1.4 Awards nominee for his work with major brands across the globe. His directorial work has been featured on PBS, Nowness, Aeon, Shots, LBB, Directors Library and has received multiple Vimeo Staff Picks.
In his free time, he attempts to perfect his Butter Chicken recipe and curate the moodiest spotify playlist. Often simultaneously.
